Blooms, Doom and Murder: A Garden of Deadly Delights
Speaker
Some of your favorite garden plants have a bit of a dark side.
From ancient poisonings to classic mystery novels, this lively talk uncovers the scandalous history of “plant crime families,” how their toxins work, and how to garden safely without deadly consequences.
It’s horticulture meets true crime (purely educational, we promise!).
Melody Lindley has been a Texas Master Gardener since 2020, with advanced certifications in Herbs and Junior Master Gardener Youth Education. A former chemist in the oilfield and pharmaceutical industries, she brings a delightfully scientific (and occasionally mischievous) lens to garden talks on poisonous plants and medicinal herbs—exploring how plants can heal, harm, and sometimes do both.
